About Us

Pat Burke, wife of DHS Club president Dick Burke, began a charitable organization in 2001 - DHS Club Kids. DHS Club Kids is an organization committed to helping feed, clothe, house and teach orphan children throughout the world. Pat, a former elementary school teacher, and Dick,a former coach, have always loved helping children and see DHS Club Kids as a way to channel a percentage of the DHS Club's profits in order to help orphan children in need.

In 2001, DHS Club Kids donated to support orphanages in India, Kyrgyzstan and Cambodia. Additionally, in remembrance for all the victims and the many kids that lost a Mother or Father from the September 11th attacks, The DHS Club contributed to the United Way's September 11th Fund.
It is the goal of DHS Club Kids program to have their donations go directly to help orphans and children, so that money is not spent to support administration of the funds.

In 2005, DHS Club Kids became a corporation and then filed to become a non-profit organization under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. We received that status in June of 2005 and therefore all contributions received are deductible under section 170 of the code. We are also classified as a public charity by an advance ruling until December 31, 2009. At that time, we will need to complete compliance forms in order to maintain the public charity status. Finally, in October of 2005, as an Affinity Group with the DHS Club, DHS Club Kids began to receive donations. Many of these donations are but a small percentage of VIP Members' DHS Club income, but put together, they can make a world of difference for an orphaned child. We hope you will consider becoming a contributor and/or part of these recurring donations. Please check our "Contributions" link at this site.
