Archive NewsletterSeptember 2007- Fall News The year is certainly flying by and much is being done at each of the places, we as a whole sponsor. It is so gratifying to hear from these places of all the wonderful things that are happening. As a partner, you should feel good that you are making life for these children better and better each time you give. My hope is that if you have not given for a while, that you consider giving again very soon. A special thanks to Kate Fagalde, who is selling her book, “Lambs Love and Laughter” and donating the proceeds to DHS Club Kids for the Mantsase Children’s Home in Lesotho, Africa. To find out more about how to get this hilarious account of Kate and John’s experiences in Africa, go to the VIP Control Center. We have some wonderful news from India. A small piece of land has been purchased for the building of a girls’ home. But first the completion of the second story of the boys’ home must be finished. Apparently, the cost of supplies and construction has gone up drastically this past year, and therefore slowed down the progress of completion. We are sending a check for $1200.00 to help with the completion. Karakol Children's Home in Kyrgystan also had some great news. In part, because of your donations, all the money needed for the 25 new beds has been received. They also received a grant for a new heating system, which is wonderful because last winter the home was cold due to the old heating system working so poorly. They presently need to fix several windows before winter and to buy 2 washing machines. Also, with the winter months quickly approaching, money will be needed for the heating bill. We are sending a check for $1200.00 to go for these needs. The building of “Casa Heidi” orphanage in Guatemala continues to progress. Construction should be complete around February. At that time they will need assistance with its finishing and furnishing. They will need beds, mattresses, linens, and all appliances to start with first. Come early next year, we will send some money to go towards those items. The Mantsasa Children’s Home in Lesotho, Africa is now coming out of the winter months, but they are always in need of money for their prepaid meter for electricity. Another monthly need is gas, as they cook on a gas stove. With the number of children at 48 now, there is also a need to purchase 2 more washing machines. We are sending them also a check for $1200.00 for their needs. Once again, thank you for caring for the needs of these children!
